About the Fair

the first ragged hedge fair was held at abbey home farm in 1996 next to ragged hedge wood

from whence it's name derived. it owed a debt for inspiration to the roughhill fairs of olden

times held in a secret valley over the fields on our neighbour's farm - magic days indeed !

hats also doffed to albion fairs of east anglia whose memorable events entertained and

inspired local folk alongside bohemians from far and wide - a mix we sought to emulate.

10 years went by busy times for all and sundry and then in 2006 ragged hedge reappeared in

another field on the farm alongside the legendary totem pole . the 2007 fair came and went in

a flash of the eye and here we are in 2008 planning what we hope will be a happy weekend

for all ages.

in 2007 were able to pay abbey home farm rent for the use of 2 fields

and raised £2500 for 5 cirencester based community projects.
